FIPCOM launches Extinguisher Exchange Programme
By FIPCOM, October 12th, 2010,in News, 新闻报导 » | No Comments »
Kuala Lumpur: The Fire Prevention Council Malaysia (FIPCOM) today launched the Extinguisher Exchange Programme (EEP).
The EEP which will run from 1st October 2010 until 31st December 2010 enables owners of old, used and obsolete extinguishers to exchange them for new hand-held portable extinguishers at a discounted price.
The programme has as it objectives to promote ownership of fire extinguishers in homes in line with the Ministry of Housing and Local Government’s One Home, One Extinguisher campaign that was launched in 2006.
“Ownership of fire extinguishers in homes is still very low and this is something that is being addressed by programmes such as the EEP,” said Minister of Housing and Local Government, Datuk Wira Chor Chee Heung.
The Minister highlighted that fire is the most frequent type of life threatening calamities that people can take steps to prevent.
“Extinguishers in this sense is a very small but effective way for homeowners to protect themselves, their families and belongings from a fire,” he added.
Under this programme owners will be able to exchange old and obsolete extinguishers for the FIPCOM Fire-X extinguishers at a discounted rate of 30% or RM40 per unit (RRP RM59.90). In addition, the owner of the new aerosol extinguisher will be entitled to a personal accident (PA) insurance coverage of RM10,000 completely free, underwritten by MUI Continental Insurance Bhd.
These extinguishers are part of the new generation of hand-held aerosol dry powder fire extinguishers that are very user-friendly and effective multiple types of fire (wood, paper, fat, diesel, petrol and electrical fires).

By FIPCOM, June 1st, 2010,in 防火小知识 » | No Comments »
