
Kuala Lumpur: This is the first time Fire Prevention Council Malaysia better known as FIPCOM is working in collaboration with a Bank – CIMB Bank in organizing a Fire Safety Workshop targeted at children to help nurture our young generation to be prepared and ready to handle any eventualities at any moment. FIPCOM plans to bring this program to other states of Malaysia later this year. This workshop will take place at One Utama Shopping Centre (New Wing), Petaling Jaya from 30 to 31 May 2009.
CIMB Foundation under its Community Link Project has actively participate and support this important event. Furthermore, as part of CIMB’s Corporate Social Responsibility initiatives in promoting Fire Prevention to the general public has collaborate and serve as a Partner-in-Service to FIPCOM.
We are pleased to invite Y.B Dato’ Seri Kong Cho Ha, Minister of Housing and Local Government to officiate this event at One Utama Shopping Centre (New Wing), Petaling Jaya on Saturday, 30 May 2009 at 10.30 am.
This Fire Safety Workshop is free and open to all the children from 4-12 years old to learn about fire escape method and improve their knowledge about the fire preventions. The 2 days workshop at One Utama Shopping Centre (New Wing), Petaling Jaya will be run in 4 to 6 sessions per day.
The program will be divided into 6 steps which include product explanation, demonstration by qualify volunteer, on fire escape methods and how to overcome the obstacles in the event of a fire. A “Certificate of Attendance” and Personal Data Card will be given to those who have successfully complete the entire 6 steps process.
Fire Safety Workshop starts from 10.00 am to 8.00 pm, there will be an appearance of the “DOREMI” – children artists will perform the “Little Fire Fighter” song to encourage the participation of the children during the workshop.
Besides, children are given opportunity to learn the history of Malaysian Fire Services at the Fire Museum during the workshop and learn about the fire prevention tips. Souvenirs and gifts will be given away to all the children who participate for the workshop on a first come first serve basic.
Through the support of NGOs and local Government Agencies, FIPCOM serves as a platform to educate and contribute to the society and also be part of a Safer Malaysia.
